Support the healing work of the Collaborative Justice Program
Since April 2005, the Program has been pleased to receive funding from the Province of Ontario Ministry of Community, Children and Social Services for youth cases. This allows us to work with youth cases that cover a range of seriousness, both post charge and pre-charge. We accept referrals from Crown and Defence Counsels, the Judiciary, Probation Services and the Boys and Girls Youth Diversion Program.
Over many years, CJP has been honoured to receive funding from many generous sources who believe in the healing work and service that CJP provides. Thank you so very much to the McLean Foundation, Charity Alive Fund - Sisters of Charity Halifax, Sisters of St. Joseph, F.K. Morrow Foundation, Ontario Trillium Foundation, Sisters of Providence of St. Vincent de Paul and Samuel Rogers Memorial Trust.
CJP is grateful to have received funding from the Ottawa Community Foundation since 2022 to provide restorative justice services to address young adult crime (18-25). The Ottawa Community Foundation is a public, charitable organization created by and for the people of Ottawa. The Foundation works with donors and the community at large as a trusted partner to fulfill impact philanthropy and bring about positive, systemic, and sustainable change. It is so meaningful to us that the Ottawa Community Foundation consistently shows ongoing support for our local program’s efforts to assist Ottawa in becoming a safer and healthier community.
Government of Canada Community Services Recovery Fund (CSRF): In May 2023, the Collaborative Justice Program: Restorative Justice Ottawa (CJP) was proud to receive funding for pandemic recovery from the Government of Canada Community Services Recovery Fund (CSRF), administered by the Ottawa Community Foundation. CSRF is a $400 million investment from the Government of Canada to support community service organizations, including charities, non-profits and Indigenous governing bodies, as they adapt and modernize their organizations. This grant allowed CJP to contract a consultant familiar with the local justice community, to identify prospective individual donors, corporate sponsorships, and foundations. We are extremely grateful for the support in helping CJP continue to deliver restorative justice services throughout Ottawa, assisting those affected by crime to heal.
Department of National Defence, Sexual Misconduct Support and Resource Centre (SMSRC): The staff, board members and supporters of the Collaborative Justice Program: Restorative Justice Ottawa (CJP) is pleased to receive a recurrent 3-year grant starting in 2023. This adult post charge program will allow CJP to provide its restorative justice services to Defence community cases involving sexual misconduct that have been transferred to the criminal court in Ottawa and surrounding areas. This funding will strengthen the services for those affected by sexual misconduct in the CAF/DND, while demonstrating how community-based support can hold those responsible meaningfully accountable to those they have hurt. We are immensely grateful to DND - SMSRC for this grant and for supporting our mission. We are pleased to be serving our community and supporting our military members, one case at a time through restorative justice.
CJP continues to depend on receiving donations to allow us to accept more cases. The receipt of donations allows the Program to continue to serve victims, accused, and affected community members. Any amount you can afford would be greatly appreciated.
Note: please be sure to check your junk mail if you have not received your donation receipt.
